The busiest year yet! 2019 has been a wonderful year for Redemption seeing more people open up to mindful eating and drinking. We launched our Covent Garden restaurant on the 17th December 2018 and watched as the demand for quality non-alcoholic drinks blossomed with plant based dining now firmly on the foodie landscape. Less booze more party! We kicked off the year with the Mindful Drinking Festival, this mid-January focus is especially motivating for those taking up the Dry January Challenge and year on year keeps growing. If you want to see an awesome collection of brands and inspiring people then be sure not to miss this FREE event! We have seen some fabulous products come to market this year. Our customer favourite has been Noughty, the amazing organic non alcoholic prosecco from Thomson and Scott. We took them and our friends at Atopia along to the RA Lates in July to be the first official no alcohol bar at the prestigious Royal Academy of Art and saw a real demand for people looking for delicious grown up non alcoholic alternatives! We even featured on Tricks of the Restaurant Trade on channel 4 with our co founder Andrea shaking up some serves for Simon Rimmer. The media was hot on the non-alcoholic movement and after 5 years of championing more mindful consumption we could finally say… We told you all along, it’s the way forward! We have collaborated on some great events in the sober world and met some really inspiring people leading the way in sobriety and tackling some really important social issues. Why has being sober been thought of as boring or weird? Alcohol is a toxin that puts our body under great pressure to process and leaves us with all sorts of physical and emotional hangovers, yet why is it still so socially celebrated? The ladies behind Mindful Mixers introduced us to Sober Curios by Ruby Warrington – one of the books we have found to be the most compelling and relatable to helping us question our relationship with alcohol. Mindful choices Being more mindful about what you drink and why you drink has been the hot topic on everyone’s lips this year. We hosted a great podcast with Alison Perry, talking to Clemmie Telford & Rosamund Dean focusing on the challenges (and huge benefits) of being a sober mum, created our bottomless boozeless brunch events with Mille from @sobergirlsociety and started our Seven Dial’s deli Master Classe’s in Covent Garden. We kicked off with a sell out Caleno cocktail class that helped people to learn more about the product with Founder Ellie and how to make delicious cocktails at home and of course then we finished the year off with @soberDaves Christmas party. We even had Ishspirts founder Morten come down and man an exclusive ISH Daiquiri bar, another serve sure to make it into the 2020 list! 2020 new drinks We have developed our drinks offering and cocktail menu and can’t wait to launch a few more new drinks next year! We are bringing the awesome Freestar 0% gluten free beer into Covent Garden on draft and in can in Shoreditch and Notting Hill from early January. V.I.B.E delicious Rhubarb spirit will be coming on the list in a delicate, fragrant cocktail and a new brand we are super keen to support. Our star of the month the Fresh Focus will be launched by Camille from La Maison Wellness after her Master Class on 8.1.20, the first CBD cocktail on the menu. We will be talking more about CBD and its benefits in the new year! To round the year off we launched our Redemption Retreat in Northern Portugal to take place in February 2020. This is a really exciting development to the Redemption brand and one we hope will grow with us! There are still a few spaces available, please book through our shop . Through January we will be filling the blog with motivational and we hope inspirational content around Dry January and of course Veganuary and creating more mindful choices in the new year and beyond!
